From December, 1952 until August, 1953 the business was run by Glen Schreier. The business was purchased by Herve Phelps, who operated it until December, 1961. It was then run by George Hare of New Lisbon until June, 1963 when it was purchased by James Hammer. Mr. Hammer then operated the Hammer Funeral Home until December, 1986 when the current owner, Mark Hoof, purchased the business.
The Hoof Funeral Home continues to serve the families in the greater Reedsburg area with the same philosophy as that of Mr. Freelan Bartlett, some sixty years ago. We will continue to perpetuate the ideals on which the business was founded. We also believe that creating a meaningful, appropriate and affordable service celebrating a life lived can be a rewarding and healing experience for all those involved. We would be honored and privileged to have the opportunity to serve you or your family in one’s time of need.
