Lyle C. Luck, age 93, of North Freedom, died on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at Maplewood of Sauk Prairie. He was born on December 31, 1915 in the Town of Sumpter, Sauk County, the son of Florian and Ida (Heinz) Luck. On October 20, 1942, he was married to the former Phyllis “Pat” Thake. Lyle was a lifelong farmer in the Town of Sumpter. He had served on several rural school boards. Lyle enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his family. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Baraboo. Survivors include his wife, Pat; four children: Connie (Gerald) Lehman, of Reedsburg; Daryl (Diane) Luck, of North Freedom; Sue (Jerry) Luck-Johansen, of Reedsburg and Larry (Anita) Luck, of North Freedom; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one brother: LaVerne “Tom” (Glenyce) Luck, of Baraboo; his sister-in-law: Dolores Luce, of Baraboo; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter: Marilyn Luck, in November 2002, and two sisters: Marguerite Mielke and his twin infant sister. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at ST. JOHN’S LUTHERAN CHURCH in Baraboo with Pastor Thomas Fricke officiating. Interment will be in the Sauk Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call after 10:00 A.M. on Saturday at the church. The Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg is serving the family.
