Walter A. Schultz, age 91, of Hillpoint, died on peacefully on Saturday, June 13, 2009. He was born on March 21, 1918 in the Town of Washington, Sauk County, the son of Herman and Amanda (Baumgarten) Schultz. Walter was a 1937 graduate of Reedsburg High School. On August 9, 1941, he was married to the former Lillian A. Fortmann. Walter was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Navy. Following his military service, he graduated from the University of Wisconsin – School of Pharmacy. He then owned Lucky Pharmacy in Madison for many years. Walter later worked as a relief pharmacist in Reedsburg, Baraboo and other area communities until his retirement. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hillpoint, Fuhrman-Finnegan American Legion Post in Reedsburg and he was active with the Reedsburg and Lime Ridge Senior Centers. Walter also enjoyed working in his garden. Survivors include his five children: Linda (Rev. Carlton) Sielaff, of Fox Lake; Bryan (Robin) Schultz, of Chicago, IL; Dale (Rachel) Schultz, of Richland Center; Glenn Schultz, of Madison and Janet (Randy) Bioggo, of Minneapolis, MN; fifteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one niece; two nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian; one son: Perry, in March 1988; an infant grandson: Michael Sielaff; two sisters: Elsa Westphal and Hilda Schultz; two brothers: Edward and Arthur; and two others in infancy. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at ST. PAUL’S LUTHERAN CHURCH in Hillpoint. Interment with military rites will be in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to The Lutheran Hour Ministries would be appreciated. The Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg is serving the family.
