| Ambrose J. "Bruce" Ennis, age 86, of Baraboo, died on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 in the Reedsburg Area Medical Center. He was born on November 13, 1925 near Wonewoc, the son of Lawrence and Lillian (Schneider) Ennis. Bruce was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Navy. On September 29, 1947, he was married to the former Dorothy J. Zantow. Bruce worked at Reedsgas for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed shooting pool, telling a funny joke or two and wintering in Bradenton, Florida. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; six children: Victoria (Sidney) Craig, of Ocean Shores, WA; Susan (Dale) Thomas, of Westfield; Richard (Pamela) Ennis, of Ocala, FL; Marian (Larry) Wall, of Oak Harbor, WA; Kevin Ennis, of Poynette and Bruce Ennis, of Winter Park, CO; twelve grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; two sisters: Dorothy Zimmerman, of Baraboo and Joan Fisher, of Wisconsin Dells; one brother: Charles Ennis, of Sauk City; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a grandson: Ryan Thomas; five brothers: Norvin, Clarence, George, Richard and Frank Ennis; and two sisters: Verna Beard and Stella Zick.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Reedsburg with Deacon Ron Pickar officiating. Interment will be in St. Theresa's Catholic Cemetery in Union Center with military rites accorded by the Reedsburg V.F.W. Post 1916. The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Friday at the Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Sacred Heart Catholic Church would be appreciated.
