| Kenneth H. Harder, age 85, of Reedsburg, died on Monday, August 13, 2012 at Maplewood Nursing Home in Sauk City. He was born on June 3, 1927 in Reedsburg, the son of Arnold and Hilda (Grosskrueger) Harder. Ken was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving with the U.S. Army. On June 16, 1952, he was married to the former Irma M. Hemberger. Ken was a lifelong farmer in the Town of Reedsburg. He enjoyed traveling, wintering in Arizona and going to the family cottage at Island Lake. Ken was a member of the Reedsburg V.F.W. Post 1916.
Survivors include his wife of sixty years: Irma; four children: Robert (Kim) Harder, of Rosamond, California; Douglas (Lori) Harder, of Reedsburg; Sue (Daniel) Brylla, of Reedsburg and William Harder, of Austin, Texas; his daughter-in-law: Christina (Jon) Hammond, of Reedsburg; nine grandchildren; one great granddaughter; his sister: Audrey Hamburg, of Freeport, Illinois; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son: Dennis Harder, in March 1998 and three brothers: Rupert, Herbert and Melvin.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, August 17, 2012 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Loganville with Pastor David Glesne officiating. Military rites by the Reedsburg V.F.W. will follow the service. Interment will be in the Garden Bluff Cemetery, rural Lodi, at a later date. The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday at the Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg. Memorials to the Alzheimer's Association would be appreciated.
