| Delores M. Higbee, age 86, of Reedsburg, died on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 in the Sauk County Health Care Center. She was born on May 1, 1926 at North Freedom, the daughter of Walter E. and Elsie (Willey) Steinhorst. On September 21, 1951, she was married to Russell A. Higbee. Delores worked at Bergner's in Rockford for many years. She will be remembered for her sewing and quilting skills, gardening and spending time with Russell at their cottage in Woodruff. She also volunteered at the Riverview Thrift Store in Reedsburg.
Survivors include three sisters: Eunice (Merlin) Shanks, of Portage; Audrey Doll, of Sun Prairie and Marlene (Bert) Enstad, of Neshkoro; two brothers: Russell Steinhorst and Ronald Steinhorst, both of Prairie du Sac; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell, on May 9, 2012; her parents and a sister: Lorna Wieglow.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, August 20, 2012 at St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church in Reedsburg with Pastor Kurt Klingbeil officiating. Interment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park in Monona. There will be a visitation from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Monday at the church. The family would like to thank Dr. Karl Hoffmann and the staff of Eagle Path at the Sauk County Health Care Center for the wonderful care given to both Delores and Russell.
