Frieda Lucht Craker, age 89, of Reedsburg, died on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at the Reedsburg Area Senior Life Center. She was born on February 18, 1923, the daughter of August and Martha (Wawrock) Schlieckau. On June 25, 1943 she was married to Victor Lucht at St. Peter's Church in Loganville. He died on September 28, 1972 due to a farm accident. She later married Victor Craker on July 24, 1976. He preceded her in death on February 25, 1999. Frieda was a caregiver for her youngest brother, August Schlieckau Jr., for many years. Augie preceded her in death on December 2, 2009. She worked as a cook at the Sauk County Health Care Center for many years. Frieda also enjoyed doing sewing and alterations. Survivors include her three daughters: Janet (Marvin) Laukant, of Rock Springs; Betty (Ronald) Schwartz, of Oconomowoc and Susan (Dennis) Bennett, of Portage; her stepson: Philip (Gloria) Craker, of Reedsburg; eight grandchildren: Cindy (Bob) Kissack, of Rock Springs; Nancy (Jon) Williams, of Lyndon Station; John (Joanna) Laukant, of Reedsburg; Charles Laukant, of Reedsburg; Craig (Gwen) Schwartz, of Verona; Amy (Michael) Borchers, of Indianapolis, IN; Victoria Bennett, of Poynette and Rebbecca Bass, of Portage; six step-grandchildren: Robin (Jean) Craker, of Reedsburg; Holly (Lynn) Mittelstaedt, of Reedsburg; Nancy Kaney, of Reedsburg; Jamie (Ken) Catterson, of Baraboo; Chris (Tammy) Craker, of Falkon, SD and Tracy Craker, of LaCrosse; thirty seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; four sisters: Dorothy Albers, of Reedsburg; Marion Roecker, of Reedsburg; Adeline (Joseph) Stimac, of Milwaukee and Beverly (Richard) Schultz, of LaValle; two brothers: Walter (Alva) Schlieckau, of Loganville and Henry (Jan) Schlieckau, of Reedsburg; a sister-in-law: Beverly Schlieckau, of Loganville; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; one sister: Louise White; two brothers: Harold and August Schlieckau Jr. and one nephew: Richard Roecker. She will be remembered for her delicious meals, her beautiful sewing and her passionate caregiving. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 26, 2012 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Loganville with Pastor Christopher Miller officiating. Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Saturday at the Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg. The Hoof Funeral Home is serving the family.
