Helen E. Meyer, age 89, of Loganville, went to meet her Maker, who granted her wish and allowed her to die peacefully in her sleep, on Monday morning, August 10, 2009 in her home. She was born on May 12, 1920 in the Town of Washington, Sauk County, the daughter of George A. and Erna (Gudenschwager) Meyer. On June 7, 1946, she was married to Edmund C. Meyer. Helen farmed in the Town of Westfield for 55 years. She later worked at Flambeau Plastics in Baraboo until her retirement. Helen was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, the National Farmers Organization and the National Family Opinion. She enjoyed watching nature, baking, cooking and reading in her spare time. Survivors include six children: Caroline (Paul) Revels, of Janesville; Edmund W. Meyer, of Loganville; Kathryn (Thomas) Tjugum, of Monona; Paula Stoddard, of Reedsburg; Ann (Randy) Leake, of Loganville and Georgia Meyer, and her husband, Marcos Gallardo, of Watertown; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edmund, on December 31, 1967; her parents; her son-in-law: Martin Stoddard; two brothers: Walter and infant, Harold; and one sister: Dorothy Rentz. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, August 14, 2009 at ST. JOHN’S LUTHERAN CHURCH in Loganville with Pastor Duane Daeke officiating. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday at the HOOF FUNERAL HOME in Reedsburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. John’s Cemetery Association would be appreciated. The Hoof Funeral Home is serving the family.
