Celebration of Life to be announced at a later dat
After a long illness, Charleen "Connie" Johnson, beloved wife of George Johnson, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, February 25, 2013, at the age of 74. She was born on July 17, 1938 in Hancock, Wisconsin, the daughter of Lawrence and Beatrice (Gollmar) Bound. She married Dale Burdick on February 12, 1955 in Janesville, Wisconsin, and they had a daughter, Pam. She later remarried, George Johnson on October 12, 1957 in Oregon, Wisconsin, and they had three more daughters, Penny, Lori-jo and Jennifer. Connie touched countless lives in her positions as a Job Training/Placement Specialist for Renewal Unlimited where she taught her clients to "Fake it til you make it." After retiring from Renewal, Connie continued to serve and positively influence people in her position as Casino Host at the Riverside Resort Hotel and Casino in Laughlin, Nevada. Connie enjoyed traveling, reading, knitting and spending time with loved ones. To this day many folks still use her dishcloths and "kitchen skates." In her younger years she loved riding horses and was known to be feisty and humorous. She leaves behind her husband of 55 years, George Johnson. Four daughters, Pam Blyczynski of Piqua, Oh, Penny Johnson of Reedsburg, Lori-jo Johnson of Baraboo and Jennifer (Col. Sean) Gallagher, stationed at Incirlik Air Base in Turkey. She also leaves five grandchildren, Larry (Katie) Bylczynski of Watertown, WI, Amanda Bylczynski of Piqua, OH, Scott Bylczynski of Lake Mills, WI, Jeremiah (Sarah) Johnson, of Lake Delton, WI and Sam (Nina) Brant, of Baraboo, WI. Seven great grandchildren and many cherished relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and both of her brothers, Whitford Adair Blish and Jack Bound. A "Celebration of life" memorial will be held in the summer, per Connie's request. The Hoof Funeral Home is serving the family.
