Norman L. Ahlstrom, age 91, of Reedsburg, died Saturday evening, April 27, 2013 at his home. He was born on March 11, 1922 in Frontier County, Nebraska, the son of Frank and Nina (Johnson) Ahlstrom. Norman was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II. On December 31, 1946, he was married to the former Kathryn L. Molberg. Norman was a carpenter, farmer and he also worked for Skelgas, Badger Ordinance and lastly for Big Joe's in Wisconsin Dells. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, hunting, playing cards and cribbage. Norman was a member and past commander of the Reedsburg V.F.W. and a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Loganville. Survivors include his wife, Kathryn; five children: Carol (Chuck) Wright, of Irving, TX; Fred (Anitra) Ahlstrom, of Onalaska; Mark (Mary) Ahlstrom, of Reedsburg; Frank Ahlstrom, of Necedah and Mary (Ron) Hasse, of Hillpoint; fourteen grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; one brother: Marvin Ahlstrom, of Westfield; one sister: Joyce Smith, of Bloomington, IL; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Loganville with Pastor Christopher Miller officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Reedsburg V.F.W. following the service. There will be a visitation from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service on Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Peter's Lutheran Church or the Reedsburg V.F.W. would be appreciated. The Hoof Funeral Home is serving the family.
