Anthony S. "Tony" Zgorski, age 92, of Reedsburg, formerly of LaValle, died peacefully on Sunday, January 8, 2017 in the Reedsburg Area Senior Life Center. He was born on June 29, 1924 in Chicago, IL, the son of Julius and Laura (Linka) Zgorski. Tony was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Navy. On August 10, 1946, he was married to the former Gladys Groth. Tony worked for many years for the Stewart Warner Corporation in Chicago until his retirement in 1982. Following his retirement, he and Gladys moved permanently to their home on Lake Redstone. Tony enjoyed entertaining family and friends at the lake. He was an avid reader and enjoyed golfing, fishing and dancing. Tony was a member of the LaValle American Legion and Holy Family Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Gladys; his daughter: Lynn (Troy) Porter, of Gold Canyon, AZ; four grandchildren: Todd (Lori) Porter, Gregory (Lisa) Porter, Ryan (Stacy) Porter and Heather (Kevin) Zudycki; eight great-grandchildren: Hayden, Mackenzie, Laney, Bradley, Kate, Emily, Tristan and Keegan; his sister: Florence Baumet; 2 sisters-in-law: Leora Ruth Bonvini and Loretta Margaret Poindexter (deceased); nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, January 13, 2017 at Holy Family Catholic Church in LaValle with Father Scott Emerson officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Reedsburg Veterans Honor Guard immediately following the service. Interment will then be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery. There will be a visitation after 9:30 A.M. on Friday until the time of the mass at the church. In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials to Holy Family Catholic Church in LaValle would be appreciated. The Hoof Funeral Home is serving the family.
