Clarence R. Grover, age 93, of Baraboo, formerly of Reedsburg, died Sunday morning, July 2, 2017 at St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo. He was born on June 26, 1924 in Tomah, the son of Ray and Frances (Wolf) Grover. Clarence was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Air Force. He operated Mid-City Meat Market in Reedsburg for many years. He later worked for Pierce’s Super Market and Hart-Vold Meat Market, both in Baraboo, until his retirement. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Reedsburg. Clarence enjoyed reading, playing cards and working on puzzles. Survivors include his wife, Helen; one son: Dennis (Pam) Grover, of Portland, OR; two grandchildren; one great- grandson; two stepdaughters: Connie Parrish and Mary Rajchel, both of Baraboo; one son-in- law: Mark Prodoehl, of Lyndon Station; two step-granddaughters; five step-great grandchildren; brother-in- law: Lyle (Jean) Holtz, of Reedsburg; two sisters-in- law: Darleen (Larry) Schubring, of California and Bernadine Holtz, of Reedsburg; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepdaughter: Vicky Prodoehl; stepson: Brian Nussbaum; and his step-grandson: Tyson Deitrich. A memorial service will be conducted at 6:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at the Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg with Pastor Vicki Brantmeyer officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Reedsburg Veterans Honor Guard. A private family internment will be held at a later date. There will be a visitation from 4:00 P.M. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated. The Hoof Funeral Home is serving the family.
