Dennis H. Bell, age 74, of New Lisbon, formerly of Rock Springs, died peacefully on Friday, April 19, 2019 in his home. He was born on September 17, 1944 in Baraboo, the son of James and Lorraine (Kopf) Bell Sr. Dennis was a 1962 graduate of Webb High School in Reedsburg. On October 30, 1965, he was married to the former Betty J. Tauber. Dennis was a member of the Wisconsin Army National Guard in Baraboo from 1962 until 1969. He was employed at Sysco Foods in Baraboo for thirty-five years until his retirement. Dennis enjoyed hunting, loved his John Deere tractors and equipment, yard work and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife: Betty; two sons: Eugene Bell, of New Lisbon and Wayne (Julie) Bell, of New Lisbon; two grandchildren: Andrew and Heather; four great grandchildren: Shelby, Jaxon, Briella and Beckett; six brothers: Lester (Heidi), of Blaine, MN; Jim (Carol), of Reedsburg; Bill (Mary), of Barron; Ronnie (Bonnie), of Rock Springs; Donnie (Sandy), of Baraboo and Johnnie (Sue), of Rock Springs; two sisters: Edith (Harley) Wiese, of Loganville and Suzie Vertein, of Reedsburg; his mother-in-law: Ruth Tauber, of Baraboo; his brother-in-law: David (Jan) Tauber, of Rock Springs; his sister-in-law: Pat (Joe) Schwochert, of Baraboo; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Ted and Bob; one sister: Donna Dyke. There will be a visitation from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at the Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg. Inurnment with military honors will be held at the Oak Hill Cemetery in North Freedom at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials to a charity of your choice would be appreciated. The Hoof Funeral Home is serving the family.
